SCDOT to hold a drop-in public meeting in Spartanburg County

​Columbia, S.C.(August 9, 2024) - SCDOT will hold a drop-in public information meeting on Thursday, August 22, 2024 regarding an intersection improvement project at SC 85 and SC 56 (Hearon Circle) in Spartanburg County.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The meeting will take place at the University Readiness Center in the Great Room (Room #262) located at 301 North Campus Boulevard Spartanburg, SC 29303. SCDOT representatives will be available at the meeting to discuss the proposed project with members of the community. There will be no formal presentation.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to improve the operational efficiency and safety of the intersection. The proposed improvements include increasing weave areas for cars to merge, flattening and improving the "S" shaped curves around the circle, and implementing access management throughout the project to improve operational efficiency and safety.
