At OceanFirst, we want to keep you safe and informed. Here are some ways you can protect yourself from fraud.
-
Update Your Password - If your password is a common word, not very strong or is the same on other sites, then we strongly suggest you change it. To create a strong password; include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and punctuation marks, and never use personal information.
-
Add a Layer of Protection - Use multifactor authentication for any accounts or services that offer it to ensure you are the person logging in. Additionally, turn on notifications when you login and out of accounts.
-
Keep all Applications and Operating Systems up to Date - Check for and download the latest versions on your computer, mobile phone, and other devices.
-
Monitor Your Accounts - Check your bank accounts and credit report for any uncommon activity. As a reminder, you get one free credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies.
-
Beware of Imposters - If you receive a call or text from someone claiming to work at a bank or a government agency asking for sensitive information such as an account number or your Social Security Number, hang up.
If you feel like you have been impacted by fraud or have questions regarding your account, please contact us immediately at 1.888.623.2698
