Gabe Evans Wants To Ban Abortion Despite Admitting He Knows Nothing About Women’s Health Care

Gabe Evans continues to make it clear he'd be a threat to Colorado women's reproductive freedom in Congress.

In a new interview, he hid how he voted on Proposition 115 in 2020, which would have banned abortion in Colorado, because he knows his support for banning abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest is out of touch with Coloradans.

Then, Evans revealed he knows nothing about "that female reproductive care stuff" because he "don't got the right parts" - but that hasn't stopped him from voting to let politicians like himself control personal health care decisions for women.

Backed by extremists who co-sponsored a total national abortion ban with no exceptions, Evans won't hesitate to attack reproductive freedom for women across the country.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Gabe Evans wants to rip away reproductive freedom from Colorado women despite admitting he knows nothing about women's health care. His anti-abortion, anti-woman agenda is too dangerous and extreme for Colorado."

Colorado Times Recorder: Anti-Abortion Candidate Says He Doesn't Understand the 'Nuances to That Female Reproductive Care Stuff' Because 'I Don't Got the Right Parts'
July 18, 2024 | Jason Salzman

  • In an interview last week, Colorado congressional candidate Gabe Evans said he didn't remember how he voted on a 2020 ballot initiative that would have partially banned abortion, but he did recall that he and his wife "were split on the issue."

  • The couple had conversations about it, Evans remembers, during which she tried to explain the "nuances to that female reproductive care stuff" that she learns about at her "doctors visits."

  • He doesn't go to those visits to the doctor because, "I don't got the right parts," he says, and therefore he must take her "word for it" because "what's most important is that we figure out, how do we best protect life."

  • [Evans is] on record as an opponent of Roe v. Wade, which established a constitutional right to choose but was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in its 2022 Dobbs decision.

  • Evans, who's a state legislator representing the Ft. Lupton area, didn't respond to an email to his campaign seeking to know if he really thinks his "body parts" prevent him from fully understanding the details of women's reproductive health and, if so, why does he think he's qualified to oppose a women's right to choose?
