Award-Winning Firm Demonstrates Commitment to Support All Maritime Stakeholders in Translating OT Cyber Risk as Critical to Business and Protecting Global Supply Chain

Houston (November 26, 2024) - ABSG Consulting Inc. (ABS Consulting), a leading global risk management company, recently convened with expert panels of cybersecurity practitioners and maritime executives at the 2024 Maritime Cybersecurity Summit hosted by the Maritime Transportation System (MTS) Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC).

The Summit, created as an event for stakeholders to share information on their current efforts to address maritime cyber risks, supports focused discussions on maritime cybersecurity challenges for port authorities and maritime owners and operators. ABS Consulting is a key collaborator with industry, government and nonprofit organizations such as MTS-ISAC, sharing critical cybersecurity insights through an operational lens about why businesses should and how they may be able to more effectively manage cybersecurity as one of the most pressing business risks.

"Our maritime cyber ecosystem requires resilient management systems and a robust safety culture," commented Ryan Moody, President and CEO of ABS Group of Companies, who led discussions on the Latest Executive and Board Room Conversations panel. "We believe classification societies and their consulting affiliates are uniquely positioned to help maritime executives understand how growing cyber risk can pose an immediate threat to business continuity and an organization's safe operation. Our role is to help guide them in how they can improve their cyber resilience while maintaining uninterrupted operations," Moody said.

"As regulatory bodies propose new mandatory cybersecurity measures that will reshape maritime operations, including the United States Coast Guard's latest directive impacting US-flagged vessels and facilities, we are committed to collaborating with regulators, class societies, and industry to help proactively manage maritime cyber risk," said Michael DeVolld, MTS Cybersecurity Lead for ABS Consulting. DeVolld shared key insights during the Summit's Industry and Government Collaboration panel. "ABS Consulting will continue to support ISAC as a trusted ally of both industry and government, and we look forward to jointly mobilizing to help strengthen the resiliency of global maritime operations as we bring forward ideas for practical solutions."
