Pots that Develop: 3rd year training common pots

  • Alicorp's "Pots that Develop" program begins a new training cycle, impacting 73 common pots in the cities of Lima, Piura and Arequipa.
  • In addition, it will deliver more than 600 thousand food rations benefiting more than 5 thousand people.

Continuity is vital in a sustainability strategy to achieve results and generate a tangible impact that lasts. Under this premise Alicorp's Pots that Develop in alliance with the NGO Juguete Pendiente, begins a new stage of training for this year.

The program, which is in its third year of training and supporting more than 440 pots nationwide, will directly impact more than 190 leaders of 73 common pots in Lima, Arequipa and Piura, with management training on topics such as finances, nutrition, accounting, budgeting, anemia prevention, among others.

Furthermore, in line with its commitment to entrepreneurship, Alicorp hopes that a group of them will continue to advance towards self-sustainability and will encourage them to create a business that contributes a secondary income to their common pots.

"The start of the training of the 'Ollas que Develop' program will generate a tangible impact by empowering the leaders of the common pots and giving them the necessary tools for their development. This year, we will impact 73 common pots in three important cities in Peru, bringing its leaders closer to self-sustainability and strengthening their capacity to continue supporting their communities," commented Ian Nightingale, Corporate Manager of Sustainable Development at Alicorp.

Finally, Pots that Develop will deliver more than 600 thousand food rations benefiting more than 5,600 people in said cities.

This joint effort between Alicorp and Juguete Pendiente seeks to empower the leaders of these organizations so that they can maintain and improve the operation of the common pots in a sustainable manner.
