Tropical Storm Debby News Release #7

City of Savannah to reopen offices Thursday

SAVANNAH - The City of Savannah will reopen all offices on Thursday, Aug. 8 following closures this week due to the impact of Tropical Storm Debby.

Emergency and essential services are still in full operation addressing residual flooding and roadway issues. A damage assessment for private and City-owned facilities is underway. If any residents sustained storm-related damage to their property, it should be reported to the City by calling 311 or using the SAV311 mobile app.

The City's Sanitation Department resumed collection routes on Wednesday on a one-day delayed schedule. Wednesday's routes will be collected on Thursday and Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday. Missed routes will be serviced as quickly as possible. Street cleaning resumed Wednesday on its regular schedule and parking will be enforced accordingly.

The Park and Tree Department as well as the Sanitation Department have already begun cleanup operations throughout the City on the public right of way and in public spaces.

The Water Resources Department and Stormwater Management Division are currently addressing significant flooding in the Tremont Park neighborhood and on Stiles Ave. Additionally, the Springfield Canal continues to have high water levels as the canal is pumped down.

On Wednesday, the City's Transportation Department were still addressing issues at a few locations, although many have been resolved.

Residents can call 311 to report downed trees and flooded roadways, ask a question about City services, or submit a service request. Service requests can also be submitted online at Savannahga.gov/311request. Residents are urged to download the SAV311 app for quick service request submission.
