Pumpkin Smash Composting Event is November 9

Don't Trash it! Smash it!

Green your Halloween by composting your pumpkin at the Western Springs Pumpkin Smash! The Pumpkin Smash is an effort to divert pumpkins from landfills by providing locations for residents to drop off jack-o-lanterns to be composted.

Saturday, November 9, from 9 am - noon, in the parking lot at St. John of the Cross School, at 5005 Wolf Road.

Please ensure that your pumpkin is contaminant free. This means NO candles, yarn, stickers, googly eyes, plastic ears, non-biodegradable materials.
