Sen. Rick Scott Slams Biden-Harris Jobs Report & Lies on U.S. Economy

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, following the release of the Bureau of Labor Statistics' abysmal August jobs report showing the unemployment rate at 4.2%, up from 3.8% in August 2023, Senator Rick Scott released the following statement. The August report shows that job creation is much lower than expected, and multiple jobs holders increased by 458,000 over the last year, highlighting the dark reality that more people are taking on multiple jobs to make ends meet. The report also shows that the June and July jobs report has been revised down by 86,000 jobs. Senator Scott also released a weekly update on his actions to address America's debt crisis, rising inflation and failing economy caused by the Biden-Harris administration's reckless and radical agenda.

Senator Rick Scott said, "Under the Biden-Harris administration, costs are way up and opportunities are vanishing for hardworking families. Along with the Harris Price Hikes created by inflation that is up 20%+ under this administration, we are now seeing unemployment remain elevated at 4.2%. Last month, the U.S. added the fewest number of private sector jobs since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office and today's report shows that full-time jobs are down by 1.1 million year-over-year while part-time jobs have exploded by 971,000 - both figures are DOUBLE what was stated in last month's report. Unfortunately, none of these facts have stopped Biden and Harris from lying to the American people. Biden and Harris claim jobs are up and then get caught in a lie when revisions erase more than 800,000 jobs they claimed to be created. The administration claims inflation is cooling but month after month we see prices go higher and force more folks to do more with less. We are sick of the lies. As someone that grew up poor and lived in public housing, I know what it's like to feel like the deck is stacked against you and that's exactly how too many Americans are feeling today because of the failed policies of Biden and Harris that are killing their chance at the American Dream. It took less than three years for Biden-Harris to destroy our economy and devastate our labor market. Florida families can't afford another four years of this."
