Beginning the week of September 16, 2024, the City contractor (Owen Contracting, Inc.) will begin the lane closures required for Stage 1A of the Viking Road and Prairie Parkway Intersection Improvements Project. Stage 1A includes the installation of a raised concrete median along Viking Road, between Andrea Drive and Walmart Drive. For the contractor to perform this work, there will be two lanes closed along Viking Road (one lane in each direction of traffic). This work is anticipated to take approximately four (4) weeks to complete, weather permitting.

As this project continues into Stage 1B and 1C, the contractor will be working off different lane closures for that work. During this construction season, no work is anticipated to require a full road closure on Viking Road. Below you will find a map of the lane closure for Stage 1A.
