Defense Logistics Agency Bahrain, Southwest Asia, military, civilian, and Bahraini employees were recently recognized for their outstanding performance and dedication mission during an all hands meeting at the site July 11.

Navy Cmdr. John Olabode, commander, DLA Distribution Bahrain, hosted the quarterly meeting to welcome new personnel, recognize personal and celebrate recent employee birthdays. DLA Distribution Bahrain maintains forward-positioned stock and provides multi-modal distribution to all branches of service operating in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Distribution Bahrain serves as the single Theater Distribution Platform within U.S. Central Command.

Located in Bahrain's capital city, Manama, the distribution center performs standard distribution operations to include receipt, store, ship, and issue as well as inventory control, care of stock in storage, packaging, and preservation. The inspector noted that DLA Distribution Bahrain was the best site he has inspected in the last 11 years. Avila oversaw the implementation of Random Antiterrorism Measures inspections with zero discrepancies noted, and he spearheaded Service Provider TOKEN reverifications, all of which contributed directly to sustaining DLA Distribution Bahrain mission readiness.
