Short Crime Spree For Carmel Man

PRESS RELEASE

On July 19, 2024, the New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested James M. Kennon, age 48, of Carmel, NY, for Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to the Lovell Street area of Somers for a report of a man breaking into the caller's house taking property. Prior to their arrival the suspect fled the area but was reported by a second caller for stealing a vehicle nearby. The vehicle was found unoccupied in Carmel, and with the assistance of Carmel Police Department, Kennon was apprehended at a nearby apartment complex.

Kennon was arraigned before the town of Somers Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear before the court on August 5, 2024.
