Rounds Issues Statement on SCOTUS Overturning Chevron Doctrine

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) issued the following statement after the Supreme Court issued an opinion on Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, overturning the Chevron Doctrine:

"The Supreme Court overturning the Chevron Doctrine is a victory for those who believe in the checks and balances of government. For 40 years, the Chevron Doctrine has allowed unelected federal bureaucrats to remake congressional intent in their own image. Overturning this ruling rightly returns power to the judicial branch as the founders intended. This reinforces the role of Congress to be more specific when crafting law. This is a victory for the little guy fighting an overwhelming federal bureaucracy."
