State Police Respond to Helicopter Crash in the Village of West C...

On July 27, 2024, at about 11:16 a.m., State Police responded to the area of 64 Liberty Street in the village of West Carthage for report of a helicopter crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed the operator of the helicopter was seriously injured and transported to Carthage Area Hospital; where he was later pronounced deceased.

FAA and NTSB are responding to the scene to continue the investigation. Further information will be released from FAA and NTSB.
