Blumenauer: “when even Donald Trump can get on board…”

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) founder and co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, released the following statement on President Trump's recent comments in support of rescheduling cannabis and Florida's legalization ballot measure.

"Vice President Kamala Harris has long been on the right side of ending the failed war on drugs. I was pleased to work with her on the only comprehensive cannabis reform to pass either chamber of Congress. While we have always enjoyed bipartisan support, it should be a powerful signal to the rest of the Republican party when even Donald Trump can get on board. This underscores the wide range of support for the issue and is further proof of what possible to get done this Congress."

Since 1973, Congressman Earl Blumenauer has lead the nation in cannabis reform. In 2017, he founded the bipartisan Congressional Cannabis Caucus to create a forum where members can engage, discuss, and learn about the need to establish a more rational approach to federal cannabis policy.
