On November 28 the working visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan to Helsinki commenced with the meeting with Jussi Halla-aho, Speaker of the Parliament of Finland (Eduskunta).
The interlocutors discussed agenda issues of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Finland. They exchanged views on the steps and prospects for deepening political dialogue between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of active interparliamentary ties in this process.
Foreign Minister of Armenia and Speaker of the Parliament of Finland also highlighted their interest in cooperation within the framework of the EU and other mutually significant formats, based on shared democratic values, the strengthening of resilience and the goals of sustainable development.
"We see a wide range of/broad opportunities to build an ambitious agenda of cooperation in line with the active political dialogue established between Armenia and Finland, covering/which will include all areas of mutual interest, including EU instruments," emphasized/stated Minister Mirzoyan.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Jussi Halla-aho exchanged views on regional issues and current challenges. In this context, the Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his interlocutor on the vision of Armenia in establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, including the latest developments in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As an essential component of the peace agenda, Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the "Crossroads of Peace" program developed by the Government of Armenia and the ongoing discussions regarding its implementation.
Mirzoyan made a note in the honorary guest book of the Parliament of Finland.
