On Thursday, December 5th, 2024, officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct responded to the 9000 Block of Southeast Flavel Street on a report that several people were stealing a camping trailer at gunpoint from an individual experiencing houselessness. PPB's Air Support Unit (ASU) was overhead and provided updates to officers on the ground as the suspects connected the trailer to a pickup truck and drove away. Officers waiting nearby conducted a traffic stop at which point some of the individuals fled. Officers were able to take one suspect into custody, but another two managed to get away in a stolen Toyota 4-Runner driven by a fourth person. The ASU kept a visual on the SUV and updated officers who located the vehicle abandoned. With assistance from PPB's K9 Unit, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Focused Intervention Team (FIT) officers, two additional subjects were taken into custody in the area of Southeast 88th Avenue and Southeast Insley Street. The fourth person is unaccounted for.
The following individuals were transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged for Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle:
Hovsep Agvinyan, 50, of Portland
Deanna Drennan, 31, of Clackamas
Jason Pruitt, 48, of Gresham
