Pay Raises Funded with FY 2025 Budget For All City Employees

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX― One of the major priorities for the FY 2025 Budget was pay raises for City employees. All eligible civilian employees have an opportunity to receive up to a 5% pay raise.

In accordance with the respective Police and Fire Collective Bargaining Agreements, Police Officers will receive a 3% pay raise and a one-time payment of $2,000, and Firefighters will receive an average of a 9% pay raise and a one-time payment of $2,000 for Firefighter I positions.

In addition to pay raises, the City will make market pay adjustments to critical hourly positions. Examples of these positions include Gas Technicians, Public Works Technicians, Utility Technicians, and Animal Care Officers.

To comply with federal labor laws, the City increased the minimum salary for overtime-exempt employees to $58,656. These wage adjustments are on top of the pay raises for FY 2025.

Finally, all eligible City employees, including Public Safety employees, will receive a one-time additional Health Savings Account contribution of up to $2,000.

The pay raises, market rate adjustments, and healthcare dollars total $15 million for FY 2025.
