City of Denton Launches 'Ask the City' Platform to Enhance Resident Engagement

Denton, TX - September 5, 2024 - The City of Denton is excited to introduce "Rep'd," an innovative video engagement platform designed to strengthen communication and enhance transparency between city staff and residents.

With 'Rep'd,' the Denton community will have another option for digital engagement with their local government in a more personal way. This service empowers residents to submit questions to city staff and receive personalized responses tailored to their inquiries, whether through video or direct communication. Once a staff response is ready, residents will be notified via email.

"Our goal is to build a better-connected community where every resident feels they have direct access to their city workforce," said Chief Communications Officer Dustin Sternbeck. 'Ask the City' is a step forward in broadening the municipal interaction experience as we create additional opportunities for Denton to become more informed through increased accessibility."

To participate, residents can easily engage with city officials by clicking the pink "Ask the City" button on the City of Denton's official website or by visiting repd.us/denton.

(About Rep'd) During the pandemic, brothers Mike and Dave Baumwoll saw a need for a platform to host informative conversations. In response, they built Rep'd: a troll-proof, ultra-efficient, fundamentally human way for government leaders and constituents to connect. Twitter veteran Mark Friese joined Rep'd in 2022 to lead the team's efforts to humanize local government and improve the way communities engage.
Rep'd is built on the belief that government/resident trust is built not through blocks of text, but by connecting as people through names and faces. This software allows us to update our community quickly and effectively on the matters you care about.
