Every year the City brings focus to life safety by proclaiming the 2nd week of October as Fire Prevention Week. This year Fire Prevention Week's theme is "Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You".
The Arcadia Fire Department encourages all residents to embrace the 2024 Fire Prevention Week theme.
A working smoke alarm is a very important part of a home fire escape plan. Make them work for you!
Install smoke alarms inside and outside every sleeping room, and on every level of the home, including the basement. Make them work for you!
Test all smoke alarms at least once a month using the test button. Make them work for you!
A home with working smoke alarms can increase your survival rate from a home fire by 50%. Make them work for you!
