November 26, 2024 14:30 KST
Good afternoon. Let me start today's briefing.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hong Kyun will chair the fourth Korea-Central America Special Roundtable on Friday, November 29.
The meeting will be attended by high-level delegations from seven Central American countries, including the vice ministers of Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, as well as representatives from major cooperation partners for development cooperation in Central America, including the United States, Spain, and Mexico.
The meeting, which will provide a forum to discuss ways to address the food crisis in Central America amid climate change, is expected to serve as an opportunity to strengthen Korea's role as a Global Pivotal State.
In addition, Vice Minister Kim will hold separate bilateral meetings with the vice ministers of six Central American countries, and discuss ways to enhance friendly relations and substantive cooperation between the two countries, as well as ways to expand and strengthen cooperation on regional and international stages.
(A question-and-answer session followed.)
