Route 2079 Knob Road Bridge Emergency Repairs Begin Next Week in Washington County

09/18/2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing bridge repairs on Route 2079 (Knob Road) scheduled to begin Monday, September 23, between Wilson Road and Route 2048 (Old National Pike), in California and West Brownsville boroughs, Washington County.

Crews from Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. will be conducting emergency repairs - necessitated by a July 31 bridge strike - on the structure that carries Route 2079 (Knob Road) over Route 40 (National Pike). Work is anticipated through early November. All work depends on weather and operations.

Route 2079 (Knob Road) will have a single-lane restriction in place between Route 2073 (Malden Road) and Route 2048 (Old National Pike).

Route 40 (National Pike) will have a daylight, 12-foot width restriction between Route 2073 (Malden Road) and Route 88. There will be a four-day, overnight (6:00 PM-6:00 AM), eastbound and westbound alternating lane restriction at a date to be announced.

Remain alert and follow posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
