D.A. Bragg Announces Additional Indictment Of Harvey Weinstein

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the indictment of HARVEY WEINSTEIN, 72, for sexually assaulting a woman in a lower Manhattan hotel on one occasion between April 29, 2006, and May 6, 2006. He is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree. He is also charged in a previous New York State Supreme Court indictment with Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree and Rape in the Third Degree.[1]

"Thanks to this survivor who bravely came forward, Harvey Weinstein now stands indicted for an additional alleged violent sexual assault," said District Attorney Bragg. Assistant D.A.s Nicole Blumberg, Shannon Lucey, and Matthew Colangelo are prosecuting this case in collaboration with Executive Assistant D.A. Justin McNabney (Chief of the Special Victims Division), and with the assistance of Analysts Desiree Marks, Nicholas Brando, and Georgia Longstreet Joseph, as well as Investigators Steven Lane and Evelyn Gutierrez. Members of the Survivor Services Bureau are providing valuable support, including Sex Crimes Clinical Director Nakeisha Vanterpool, Human Trafficking Clinical Director Melissa Martinez-Valdes and Counselor Kara Wissing.
