Join Stony Brook for Car Free Long Island Day, Sept. 22

Calling All Seawolves!

Sunday, September 22, is the annual Car Free Day Long Island, and Stony Brook University needs your help to be crowned as the Colleges/Universities Champion. The Stony Brook University Office of Sustainability is encouraging all students to ditch their car and instead ride a train, bus, bicycle, carpool or walk for the day.

Since 2013, SBU has participated in Car Free Day Long Island, with more than 500 participants each year. As of today, SBU is in the lead with 854 pledges and a goal to reach 1,000.

Every pledge will automatically be entered into a drawing for prizes, including a Giant Escape 3 bike, Liv Alight 3 bike, a 10-trip All-Access Long Island Pass from the LIRR and an annual Bike Share membership.

Click here to submit your pledge and be entered into the drawing.

Help us recognize the positive impact that alternative forms of transportation can have on our environment and bring Stony Brook University to the top of the pledge chart in this year's competition.
