Study Days Social Pedagogy - 30 October and 15 November 2024

As part of the Social Pedagogy course taught by Prof. Marianna Capo, a seminar will be held on Wednesday 30 October by Prof. Emanuela Guarcello (University of Turin). The seminar is entitled 'Forming Critical Thinking and Judgement in Primary School. The Case of Artificial Intelligence' aims to explore how artificial intelligence is influencing teaching and learning methods in primary schools and what strategies can be adopted to foster conscious and critical growth in children. Today, more than ever, access to information is immediate and increasing, and artificial intelligence plays an increasingly central role in our daily lives. It is crucial that students not only learn how to use these tools, but also develop the necessary skills to critically analyse, evaluate and interpret information. During the seminar, speakers will present innovative teaching methodologies, good practices and useful resources for integrating AI into the school curriculum, always with an eye on training autonomous and conscious thinkers.

As part of the Social Pedagogy teaching of Prof. Marianna Capo, the Lectio Magistralis of Prof. Maura Striano, Full Professor of General and Social Pedagogy at the University of Naples Federico II, will be held on 15 November 2024. The Lectio Magistralis represents a valuable opportunity for students and participants, with the aim of outlining future scenarios that can inspire increasingly effective and conscious pedagogical action. Social pedagogy, in fact, is today facing significant changes that influence not only educational practices, but also social intervention methods. Among the main challenges are technological innovation, cultural transformations, new forms of poverty and vulnerability, and the need to promote inclusion and wellbeing in different community contexts.
