News releases | December 3, 2024

Fried Frank announced today that Todd Pollock has joined the firm as a partner in the Tax Department in New York. He joins from Goodwin Procter LLP, where he was a partner in the tax group and the business law department.

Pollock advises US and international clients on tax issues for investments in partnerships and joint ventures, real estate investments, private equity and real estate fund formations and investments, REITs, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate transactions and cross-border transactions.

"We are proud to welcome Todd to the firm," said Steven Epstein, Fried Frank's managing partner and co-head of the firm's M&A and Private Equity Practice. "Given Todd's extensive experience in navigating tax issues related to the formation of private equity and real estate funds, his addition will strengthen our global service offering."

"Todd's ability to navigate various tax matters for complex deals will further bolster our tax capabilities across the firm," said David I. Shapiro, partner and co-chair of Fried Frank's Tax Department. "He is an outstanding complement to our global, dynamic team and we are glad to welcome him onboard."

Led by Shapiro and partner Alan S. Kaden, Fried Frank's international Tax Department encompasses more than 50 lawyers across its offices in New York, Washington, DC, London and Frankfurt who advise clients on virtually all areas of tax law. The practice handles all forms of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, spinoffs and joint ventures, and advises on a variety of asset management tax issues, as well as financings, including borrower, lender and capital markets representations. Additionally, the practice participates in real estate transactions, restructuring and insolvency matters, international tax planning, tax controversies and individual tax planning.

Pollock is the 12th partner to join Fried Frank in 2024. His arrival to the firm follows those of restructuring partners Rachel C. Strickland, Daniel Forman and Andrew Mordkoff, as well as asset management partners Amy Johnson and Audra A. Cohen, and finance partner Monica K. Thurmond in New York. In addition, the firm added private equity partners Christian Iwasko, Michelle Tong and Priya Rupal, along with finance partner Cameron Mitcham and corporate real estate partner Roger Schofield in London this year.
