JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Public Service Commission will begin a series of local in-person and virtual public hearings starting on Monday, July 29, 2024, to receive customer comments in an electric rate case filed by Evergy Missouri West.

Here is the schedule:

July 29 - St. Joseph. St. Joseph City Hall-Council Chambers, 1100 Frederick Ave.
The hearing starts at 6 p.m., beginning with a public information/question-and-answer session conducted by the PSC Staff, followed by the Commission receiving testimony from the public.
July 30 - Lee's Summit. Lee's Summit North High School-Performing Arts Center, 901 NE Douglas.
The hearing starts at 6 p.m., beginning with a public information/question-and-answer session conducted by the PSC Staff, followed by the Commission receiving testimony.
July 31 - Sedalia. Sedalia City Hall-Council Chambers, 200 S. Osage Ave.
The hearing starts at 6 p.m., beginning with a public information/question-and-answer session conducted by the PSC Staff, followed by the Commission receiving testimony.
Aug. 1 - Virtual Local Public Hearing via WebEx starts at Noon.

In order to ensure broad participation and the ability for every citizen to offer comments, comments made at public hearings may be time-limited.

These local public hearings will be held in facilities that meet the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

To attend a virtual local public hearing by telephone, at the time of the hearing call toll-free 1-855-718-6621, listen to the prompt and enter the access code (2631 343 1287 for the Aug. 1 Noon hearing) or (2632 648 7092 for the Aug. 1 hearing at 6 p.m.) followed by # (pound/hashtag symbol). If prompted for a password, enter 0189.

To attend a virtual local public hearing by WebEx video (internet), visit the website

www.webex.com. You can also download the Cisco WebEx meetings application on your mobile device, laptop, desktop or tablet prior to the hearing and join the meeting at the hearing time by entering the corresponding access code and password listed above.

To facilitate an orderly hearing that can be preserved for the record, members of the public who wish to participate in the WebEx question-and-answer session or make a comment to the Commission during a WebEx hearing should register by calling 1-800-392-4211 by 5 p.m. the day before the hearing.

Background
On Feb. 2, 2024, Evergy Missouri West filed an electric rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a net increase in its base rates of approximately $104.5 million.

Evergy Missouri West provides electric service to approximately 340,300 customers in the Missouri counties of Andrew, Atchison, Barton, Bates, Benton, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Clay, Clinton, Dade, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Henry, Holt, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Pettis, Platte, Ray, St. Clair, Vernon and Worth.
