We are pleased to announce that Keyla Caldwell has joined the MD|DC Credit Union Association as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO. With a diverse background in education and experience working with an elected official, Keyla brings a wealth of relevant expertise to her new role. We spoke with Keyla about her professional journey and here's what she shared with us:
My journey as an administrative professional began shortly after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University, when I had the privilege of working for Councilmember Charlene Drew Jarvis at the Council of the District of Columbia. During that time, I honed essential skills in diplomacy, tact, organization, and time management-qualities vital to being a successful administrative professional. I like to think of myself as a "jack of all trades," seamlessly managing calendars, planning events, and solving problems. Each day brings new and unique challenges and tasks, and I believe we are the glue that holds our leaders, teams, and organizations together.
Throughout my career, I have gained experience in higher education and training while working for the President at Southeastern University and Graduate School USA, and I'm excited to embrace this new opportunity at MD|DC CUA. Working alongside passionate colleagues in such a collaborative environment gives me a strong sense of belonging. John and the team are truly exceptional, and I take pride in being part of this dynamic organization.
