Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Main Street

Released: September 9, 2024 at 7:45 p.m.
Winnipeg, MB- At 4:17 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at hotel in the 700 block of Main Street.

When they arrived at the scene, crews found smoke inside the structure. The building's sprinkler system activated and firefighters launched an offensive fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 4:32 p.m.

Firefighters used a ladder truck to evacuate some of the building's occupants. They were able to re-occupy the building after the fire. There were no injuries reported.

Damage estimates are not available at this time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
