To keep AI relevant, it is essential to understand what AI means for the business, the panel explained. Identifying the 'problem' is also crucial, because then you can work out what AI tool you need to solve the problem.

But beware of the hype. "There's the hype curve of AI - and then there is the reality" - panelist, Blackstone CTO John Stecher, told delegates. The panel included PwC Global Head of Private Equity Eric Janson and Microsoft Chief Technology Officer, Enterprise Commercial, ANZ, Rik Irons-Mclean.
