MOVEBR Roadshow

Baton Rouge, LA - October 7, 2024 - Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and the MOVEBR Program Management Team are hosting the MOVEBR Roadshow, an opportunity for the public to engage with the largest transportation infrastructure initiative ever undertaken in East Baton Rouge Parish. Residents will have the chance to learn more about the MOVEBR Program, receive updates on projects, and interact with the program management team directly.

The MOVEBR initiative has been transformative for Baton Rouge, building new roadways, expanding and improving existing corridors, and enhancing connectivity for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. These efforts are already making a tangible impact on the community.

"These projects are touching every part of East Baton Rouge Parish - from North Baton Rouge to the southernmost areas of our parish. This program is about more than just transportation - it's about strengthening our economy, engaging our local small businesses, and making Baton Rouge a more connected and accessible community for all our residents," said Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. "Roadshow attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the various stages involved in roadway improvements, from planning and design to construction and completion. This public outreach will showcase where current projects stand and what to expect next."

  • Nearly 90% of MOVEBR spending has gone to East Baton Rouge companies, keeping local dollars within the community and contributing to a strong local economy.
  • MOVEBR's small-business outreach initiative has exceeded its aspirational goal of 20% participation, significantly engaging small, minority-, woman-, and veteran-owned businesses.
