Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Alamo Ranch09/11/2024

Grand Opening at 10AM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024

San Antonio, TX - September 11, 2024 - Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Alamo Ranch bookstore on Wednesday, September 18th. The new Barnes & Noble is located at 5427 W. Loop Rd 1604 N, San Antonio, TX 78253, in the space formerly occupied by Office Max near PetSmart and Best Buy.

The new Barnes & Noble will officially open to the public at 10AM CT on Wednesday the 18th, with author Jonny Garza Villa cutting the ribbon and signing copies of his newest book, Canto Contigo. The new Barnes & Noble showcases the highly lauded new bookstore design and features all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation's premier bookseller. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

"Since closing the doors to our Bandera Pointe bookstore last year, we have been fully committed to finding a new home in this area of San Antonio," said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. "We look forward to opening our Alamo Ranch Barnes & Noble and welcoming customers into their beautiful new bookstore."

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2023, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 50 new bookstores in 2024.

The Alamo Ranch location is one of ten new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in September, alongside another new location in TX as well as in PA, FL, DE, NY, AZ, NV, and TN. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

"Our customers have been anxiously awaiting this new store opening as we've seen by the outpouring of positive feedback on social media," said Elisa Dailey, Store Manager. "It's truly exciting to be a part of bringing Barnes & Noble back to this neighborhood, especially in such a beautifully designed space."
