Veteran of the Year, outstanding Marines and State of the City video at final Council meeting of 2024

In honor of his numerous efforts with the Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee and more, California District 71 Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez recognized Jack Kelley as Veteran of the Year during the City Council's final meeting of 2024 on Tuesday.

Mayor Trish Kelley also presented certificates of commendation to the "Marine of the Quarter" Corporal Nicholas Hronek and "Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter" Sergeant Angel Bustos Hernandez.

Highlighting the City's vast accomplishments over the past year, Mayor Kelley presented the annual State of the City video.

During the business portion of the meeting, Council Members approved the plans and authorized staff to advertise for bids for the Crucero Park Play Area Rehabilitation project and discussed the timeline and next steps.

As reported, when the City Council reconvenes after the holidays, Bob Ruesch will serve as Mayor and Wendy Bucknum as Mayor Pro Tem.

The City Council normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and will resume on January 14.
