UPDATED JULY 16: Yard and Storm Debris Collection

UPDATED JULY 16-The City of League City has activated our pre-positioned storm debris removal contractor and residential debris pickup will begin in the coming days. To make the debris removal process more efficient, we are asking residents to separate their debris and set it at the curb. Please keep in mind that due to the large amount of storm debris throughout League City, this process will take several weeks. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we work to get all storm debris cleaned up.

Debris Pickup Process

Heavy, unbagged debris

A contracted debris removal company will pick up large, unbagged vegetative debris as well as fencing/construction debris. The are currently making a citywide assessment and pickup plan will follow shortly. Scroll down for details about how to separate your debris.

Bagged green waste

AmeriWaste will begin picking up bagged green waste from residential customers starting Sunday, July 21 and continue for the following two Sundays. These pickups will only include bagged vegetation (leaves, small branches, etc.). Please place your bagged green waste away from your household trash. The schedule will go as follows:

  • Sunday, July 28: If your normal trash service days are Mondayand Thursday
  • Sunday, August 4: If your normal trash service days are Tuesdayand Friday

Bagged Green Waste Drop-Off at Hometown Heroes Park

For residents who don't want to wait for bagged green waste pickup, you can drop-off your bagged green waste (no other storm debris will be accepted) at Hometown Heroes Park. Drop-offs will take place in the large westside parking lot adjacent to Dickinson Avenue. Enter from the League City Parkway entrance ONLY. Please bring your driver's license as proof of residency. Hours for bagged green waste drop-off will be daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until further notice.

Debris Separation Guidelines

Do NOT place storm debris in the middle of the street, in stormwater drains, inlets, or ditches. Keep a 10-foot radius clearance from fire hydrants to ensure fire protection for your neighborhood. When debris pickup begins, please move your vehicle(s) off the street and into your driveway to ensure trucks can safely maneuver. No bagged food or household hazardous waste can be included with your debris.

Place your storm debris in three separate piles at your curb:

  1. Large, unbagged vegetative debris (trees, tree limbs, etc.). Bundle small branches when possible. Large tree limbs do NOT need to be bundled.
  2. Fencing/construction debris.
  3. Bagged green waste (leaves, small branches, etc.).

Household Trash

To keep the debris pickup process efficient, please separate your trash bins/bags and recycling bins away from any vegetative or storm debris. Garbage cans, bags, and recycling bins should be placed on the curb during your regularly scheduled AmeriWaste collection day.
