Candidates for Ohio House of Representatives and Lucas County Juvenile Court judge are set to discuss their qualifications, positions and plans at The University of Toledo on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The free, public candidate forum begins at 7 p.m. in the McQuade Law Auditorium.

Event parking is free in Areas 12, 12S and 12W.

The candidate forum is co-organized by UToledo College Democrats, College Republicans and Student Government, which drafted the questions the candidates will field during the forum, and sponsored by the Institute of American Constitutional Thought and Leadership.

"College Democrats, College Republicans and Student Government are coming together in a historical moment on campus to host a candidate forum," said Kevin Bishop, president of College Republicans and a student member of the UToledo Board of Trustees. "Despite differences in beliefs, we all agree that civil dialogue and conversation is important for our political process. This forum is designed to allow voters to interact with candidates and hear from those who might be representing them in office after the election."

The event begins with tabling at 6 p.m. in the atrium of the Law Center. The forum is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with an opportunity to meet candidates afterward.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
