High Fire Risk Period, Nov 5 & 6

Some trails and park service closures, including campfires and BBQs
November 4, 2024

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for areas in San Mateo County for Tuesday, November 5 through Wednesday, November 6. A Red Flag Warning means warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire.

During this period, campfires are not allowed in any San Mateo County park, nor are BBQs at drop-in picnic sites. Park visitors in reserved picnic sites are restricted to charcoal BBQs only-no wood fires. Some parks will be closed while others may have closed trails or areas. See the park advisories listed below for specific details.

Please use caution and be aware of the conditions when visiting parks during this period. Check for updates here before going to a San Mateo County Park, and heed all in-park signage, including closed areas. High winds may cause tree debris to fall on park trails and even tree limbs to fall. If conditions worsen, further restrictions or closures may be implemented.
