Telephone conversation between Minister Tajani and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani had a telephone conversation this morning with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos.

"I wanted to thank Minister Kombos for Cyprus's support to the Food for Gaza initiative. Rome and Nicosia are joining forces to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. It is crucial that humanitarian aid reaches those in need as soon as possible," said Tajani.

Tajani and Kombos shared concerns about the security situation in Lebanon and the risk of an escalation with Israel. "Italy and Cyprus are working together to ensure peace and stability in the entire Mediterranean region and to facilitate dialogue between all parties involved in order to ensure a de-escalation in the Middle East," added the Minister.
