(BOWIE, Md.) - Bowie State University President Aminta Breaux was featured on Maryland state Senator Cheryl Kagan's podcast "Kibbitzing with Kagan" where Breaux covered various topics ranging from civic engagement at BSU, mental health initiatives, the impact of the new Martin Luther King Jr. Center on campus and other topics. Senator Kagan asked Breaux if Nov. 5 resonates with students.

"They are certainly paying attention to that," said Dr. Breaux after Sen. Kagan broached the election topic. "They're paying attention with a great deal of pride knowing that the strong, powerful African American women are rising through the ranks with the potential of having the next president as a graduate from an HBCU."

Toward the end of the episode, Dr. Breaux shared her thoughts on the most rewarding aspect of being Bowie State's president bringing the conversation back to the students.

"I'm proud of all these students that are here at Bowie State University," Dr. Breaux said. "We have students coming from thirty states and thirty-seven foreign countries. I'm so thrilled we're able to give that opportunity to so many students. We want to open the door even wider for -them."
