Laura Elena Carrillo, Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Foreign Ministry, led the Mexican delegation attending today's inauguration of President Luis Abinader Corona in the Dominican Republic. She represented President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the event.
On behalf of President López Obrador and the Mexican people, Undersecretary Carrillo congratulated the new president, wishing success and prosperity to him and his administration for the 2024-2028 term.
The Dominican Republic is Mexico's top trading partner in the Caribbean and a key destinations for Mexican investment in the manufacturing, tourism, agribusiness, and telecommunications sectors.
Accompanying Undersecretary Carrillo at the ceremony were Carlos Miguel Aysa González, Mexico's Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, and Carlos Imanol Belausteguigoitia Reyes, Director General for Central America and the Caribbean at the Foreign Ministry.
The Mexican government reaffirms its commitment to further strengthening its ties of friendship, solidarity, cooperation, and trade with the Dominican Republic.
