Manchin Statement On Death Of Miner Gary Chapman

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) released the following statement on the death of coal miner Gary Chapman, who was fatally injured at Mingo Logan Coal in Logan County on Friday.

"Gayle and I are devastated by the passing of Gary Chapman. We ask that all West Virginians join us in keeping his family, friends and loved ones in our prayers during this enormously difficult time. West Virginians and all Americans are forever grateful for the brave miners, like Gary, who risk their lives every day to power our great nation. Gary's bravery will never be forgotten. Gayle and I send our deepest condolences to his wife, Jennifer, and all of his loved ones as they mourn this incredible loss."
