City of Cape Coral: Committed to Recovery and Resilience Post-Tropical Storm Debby

August 5, 2024

In the wake of Tropical Storm Debby, the City of Cape Coral is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community as we address the impacts.

  • The Trafalgar and Chiquita intersection is currently closed to all traffic due to significant flooding. This closure will impact commutes, as the signal is not operational. City crews have set up detours on all approaches to redirect traffic. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays and congestion.
  • Avoid driving through standing water. We urge residents to exercise caution, as there are reports of disabled vehicles in flooded areas.
  • City Hall and Waste-Pro are conducting regular business operations today.
  • All City of Cape Coral athletic facilities will be closed today, August 5, 2024. This closure is necessary to protect our residents and the integrity of our athletic fields and facilities. City officials will re-evaluate conditions tomorrow morning, August 6, 2024, to determine if the facilities can be reopened.
Updates will be provided as new information becomes available. We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation during this time. For further updates, please visit CapeCoral.gov or follow our social media channels.
