National Park Service to temporarily close Towpath Trail section for riverbank stabilization

BRECKSVILLE, Ohio - Cuyahoga Valley National Park will close the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail between Fitzwater Road and Pleasant Valley/Alexander Road in Valley View on weekdays from 6 am December 16, 2024 through 6 pm January 20, 2025. The trail will be open on weekends from 6 pm Fridays to 6 am Mondays. No detour is available.

The closure is necessary for public safety while the park completes riverbank stabilization. This work is part of a project funded by the Great American Outdoors Act that began in 2022 that is nearing completion.
