To improve connectivity and encourage people to choose a more convenient and healthy way to travel, Worcestershire County Council is asking residents to help influence a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the three towns of Bewdley, Kidderminster and Stourport.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: "We want to get valuable insight from residents to ensure improvements are delivered where they are most needed."
"The aim is to create a long-term plan that looks at how best to improve the cycling, walking and wheeling network across the Wyre Forest district, taking into account the varying needs of where people want to go."
"We'd like cycling, walking and wheeling to be the natural choice for short trips such as getting to school, commuting, and connecting to the railway station.
Through Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans, we aim to invest in making changes that make walking and cycling a more attractive and convenient choice for people.
"I would encourage all local residents to take a look at these proposals and have their say. It is really important we have a long-term plan in place, which will also help attract more funding to deliver improvements across our network."
Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs) are an initiative from Central Government asking local authorities to put together a long-term strategic approach for the walking and cycling infrastructure which is required across an area.
Further information and the opportunity to share views via a short survey can be found at the Wyre Forest Local Cycling Walking and Infrastructure Plan pages of the County Council website.
Anyone who needs assistance accessing the survey can call in at your local library.
The closing date for responses is 10 January 2025.
