Partial Road Closure on St. Augustine Road for GDOT Work Starting August 14

The City of Valdosta is advising residents and motorists of a partial road closure on St. Augustine Road due to construction work by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Beginning on August 14, 2024, GDOT will commence work near the railroad tracks on St. Augustine Road. The partial closure will remain in effect until the work is complete.

During this period, the right lanes in both the northbound and southbound directions will be closed to traffic. This lane closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both the workers and the public while GDOT carries out essential improvements.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for possible delays and consider alternative routes if possible. The City of Valdosta appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as these important road works are completed.
