Bike tradition returns, bringing kids and players together for training camp.

The Green Bay Packers and American Family Insurance on Monday celebrated the official opening of the American Family Insurance DreamDrive training camp activity, marking its 11th anniversary.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Monday morning to recognize DreamDrive, the specially designed bike experience for Packers fans and families at training camp, centered on the storied training camp tradition where Packers players ride children's bikes to and from practice.

Five Dream Fleet bikes, which each celebrate a different piece of Wisconsin's rich heritage, were introduced for another year at the ribbon-cutting, all provided by the Packers and American Family Insurance. The Dream Fleet bikes include The Superfan Mobile, The Cheddar Chariot, The Fearless Rider, and The Dream Drivers.

Several kids were selected by American Family Insurance to have the opportunity to ride the special bikes to practice with the players. The kids had the opportunity to meet current players and received a Packers/American Family Insurance bike helmet autographed by the player who drove their bike down to practice.

Rich Steffen, American Family Insurance president of personal lines spoke at the news conference and ribbon-cutting. "American Family has shared a strong 19-year partnership with the Green Bay Packers," he said. "Caring for customers and supporting our communities are values we both share. We're two Wisconsin-based organizations and two strong brands. Working together, we're even stronger. "

"At American Family, we're here to inspire our customers to dream big. And this is a place where dreams are born, where dreams are championed, where dreams are achieved. We love this team, fans and community … and are proud to be part of it.," said Steffen.

Children are encouraged to participate in DreamDrive throughout Training Camp's open practices over the next several weeks by bringing their own bikes to practice in keeping with the longstanding tradition.

DreamDrive is a feature of the partnership between the Packers and the Madison-based insurance company, which has been a partner of the team since 2005. The partnership also includes the American Family Insurance Gate on the stadium's east side, allowing fans easy access to the Lambeau Field Atrium, as well as Titletown Gameday Live, presented by American Family Insurance, which invites fans to celebrate gamedays prior to kickoff at Titletown across the street from Lambeau Field.
