The car park of the former DLI Museum and Gallery at Aykey Heads will close from Sunday, 28 April to allow the regeneration of the site to continue.

Last year, we received planning permission to create a new venue on the site, which will include a gallery space dedicated to sharing stories and objects from the DLI.

The closure of the car park will allow a construction compound to be established ahead of further preparatory works getting underway.

We understand this is a special place to a lot of people and will take great care throughout the construction process, including carefully removing and preserving topsoil in areas where people have scattered ashes over the years. This topsoil will be re-laid in a new reflective garden.

We would like to thank people for their patience while these works are carried out.
