Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Presents Village of Pingree Grove with $959,752 in Federal Funding He Secured to Upgrade Village’s Wastewater Treatment Plant
PINGREE GROVE, IL- Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented the Village of Pingree Grove with $959,752 in federal community project funding he secured to upgrade the existing wastewater treatment facility. The funding, allocated following the passage of the bipartisan government spending bill in March, will go towards improving water quality throughout the village, maintaining its cost effectiveness, and helping the treatment plant meet the growing needs of residents. The upgrades will also have a positive impact on the Fox River Valley Watershed, improving water quality and environmental sustainability downstream in communities such as Elgin and Cario.
"Safe, modern wastewater treatment systems can make all the difference in improving a community's water quality while reducing costs for residents," Congressman Krishnamoorthi said. "With the funding I secured, Pingree Grove will be able to upgrade its wastewater treatment plant and improve the area's water quality for residents, the surrounding environment, and even neighboring communities."
