In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, the City of Tampa is providing Uber ride vouchers to help residents access vital resources at city-designated Comfort Stations.

The Tampa Emergency Transportation Service offers vouchers for up to $25 off two round-trip Uber rides to and from Comfort Stations, helping residents who lost access to personal transportation due to storm-related vehicle flooding.

"We know that many in our community are facing overwhelming hardships right now, and we are here to help in any way we can," said Mayor Jane Castor. "By providing transportation to our Comfort Stations, we hope to give families a small sense of relief as they focus on recovering from Hurricane Helene."

The Comfort Stations offer essential services, including mobile laundry, showers, electronic charging stations, food, water, and permitting assistance for home and business repairs. The locations include:

  • Gandy Civic Association - 4207 West Oklahoma Avenue (Mon-Fri, 7am-6pm)
  • Marjorie Park Marina - 97 Columbia Drive (Mon-Sun, 7am-7pm)
  • DeSoto Park - 2617 Corrine Street (Mon-Sun, 7am-7pm)

The Tampa Emergency Transportation Service is available to residents now through October 25, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. To use the service, residents can visit Tampa.gov/recoveryrides and follow the instructions to sign up for the voucher, which will be available through the Uber app. The vouchers are valid for up to four Uber rides (two round trip), with each ride not to exceed $25.
