Allegheny Health Network Names Dr. Kathleen Latouf Chief Medical Officer of Wexford Hospital

PITTSBURGH - Allegheny Health Network (AHN) announced today that Kathleen Latouf, DO, MPM, has been appointed chief medical officer of AHN Wexford Hospital.

In this role, Dr. Latouf will lead the hospital's medical staff and help drive clinical operations to uphold the highest standards of patient care, quality and experience. She will also support the continued growth of the hospital's clinical programs and services.

Dr. Latouf has served as medical director of the hospital's 24-bed emergency department since Wexford Hospital opened to patients in 2021. Under her leadership, the emergency department is a two-time recipient of the 'Guardian of Excellence' award from Press Ganey, ranking in the 95th percentile for patient experience. It boasts some of the shortest wait times nationally with most patients seen by a clinician within 15 minutes of arriving at the hospital, on average. The department is also equipped and staffed to care for pediatric patients.

Also serving as Wexford Hospital's stroke director, Dr. Latouf led the hospital to Primary Stroke Center certification from the Joint Commission last year.

Dr. Latouf earned her medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Ill., and completed an emergency medicine residency at Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. She also earned a master's of public management with a focus on health care quality from Carnegie Mellon University.

"Dr. Latouf's dedication to providing exceptional patient care and her proven leadership skills make her an invaluable asset to Wexford Hospital and the communities we serve," said Allan Klapper, MD, president, Wexford Hospital. "We look forward to the continued growth and success of our clinical programs under her direction and we are excited about the positive impact she will have on our entire care continuum, benefiting both our patients and our caregiving team."

Located north of Pittsburgh in Pine Township, the 158-bed, full-service hospital brings a full range of high-quality, innovative health care services to patients throughout northern Allegheny County, as well as Butler, Beaver, Lawrence and Mercer counties. To learn more, visit www.ahn.org/wexford.
