Lipscomb Graduate Sustainability Students Visit Metro Nashville District Energy Generation Facility

Lipscomb graduate sustainability students visited the Metro Nashville District Energy Generation Facility site on July 30, 2024 to compare and contrast local district heating and cooling using natural gas with some of the district heating and cooling systems that used renewable energy (wood chips) that they examined in New England this past summer. Students were guided on their tour by Dan Coyle and Kevin Jacobs of Thermal Engineering Group which serves at Project Administrator for the Metro Nashville District Energy System on behalf of Metropolitan Government. The group expressed their gratitude that MNDES was available for the tour and the exchange of information which included how district energy can improve overall sustainability.
