Man Shot, Woman Assaulted in Seattle’s North Beacon Hill

Police are investigating a shooting and assault in a North Beacon Hill neighborhood.

On Sunday shortly after 10:30 a.m., 911 Dispatch received a report of a shooting at South Holgate and Mountain to Sound Trail. Officers arrived and found a 31-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police secured the scene and provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable but serious condition.

During the investigation officers discovered a 32-year-old woman that was assaulted by the same 53-year-old suspect. The female sustained non-life threating injuries.

The suspect fled the scene shortly after the incidents.

Police immediately cordoned off the area and searched for the man. Officers assigned to a nearby event located, identified and arrested the suspect.

The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center for an evaluation and will be booked into King County Jail when cleared.

Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives will be leading the investigation.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting and assault are under investigation.
